The Board of Control for Cricket in India will approach the International Cricket Council over the reporting of Harbhajan Singh's bowling action after the second Test against Pakistan in Kolkata last week.

"The matter would be taken up with the ICC," he told reporters in Chandigarh on Tuesday.

Was match referee unfair to Harbhajan?

Mahendra said that it is surprising that Harbhajan's bowling action had come under suspicion within days of the bowler having worked under a biomechanics expert in Australia.

The off-spinner's 'doosra' delivery had been reported by match referee Chris Broad and the two umpires -- Steve Bucknor and Darrell Hair -- at the end of the Kolkata Test.

The BCCI chief said that any player's performance would be affected if his action is suspected even after being cleared by the ICC panel.
