Captain Sourav Ganguly on Friday said winning the Duleep trophy final against West Zone would be 'very special' for the East Zone.

"It will be very special if we can manage to win this final match because East Zone has not won a Duleep trophy final in 45 years and we are aware of that," Ganguly, who did not play in the ongoing one-day series against Sri Lanka, told reporters at Sardar Patel stadium after his arrival in Ahmedabad.

The stylish informed that there was not much grass on the pitch and the team would decide whether to play three seamers or not.

When asked about his selection in the national team, currently captained by Rahul Dravid, Ganguly refused to comment.

West Zone captain Sairaj Bahutule also appeared confident of a good match against East Zone and said Wasim Jaffer would be their mainstay in batting.

About the pitch, Bahutule remarked it was the same wicket where India played against Sri Lanka a few days ago and it was a good batting track while also having something for the seamers.

Regarding his bowling attack, Bahutule said the West Zone could play a third seamer in place of Rakesh Patel but it was yet not certain.

Paras Mhambrey, coach of East zone, said the team had a good chance and batsmen including Arindam Das and Deepdas Gupta had performed well against Zimbabwe IX in Mumbai recently while skipper Ganguly had also managed a century in Rajkot recently.

He said Ranadeb Bose had been the pick of the bowlers and had ample qualities to battle West Zone.
