England fast bowler Matthew Hoggard was fined 20 percent of his match fee for breaching the ICC code of conduct during the 22-run loss to Pakistan in the first Test that ended on Wednesday.
Hoggard was reported for excessive appealing by umpires Simon Taufel and Billy Bowden as he celebrated the dismissal of Pakistan opening batsman Salman Butt on Tuesday, the International Cricket Council said in a statement.
Hoggard was found guilty at a hearing conducted by ICC match referee Roshan Mahanama.
The ICC also fined each member of the Pakistan team 10 percent of their match fees after the hosts fell two overs short of the minimum number to be bowled in the time available, with Pakistan captain Inzamam-ul Haq fined double.
"This is a problem we have to tackle apart from concentrating on our build-up for the second Test," Inzamam told reporters.
