Sachin Tendulkar equalled former Pakistan all rounder Wasim Akram's world record for most one-day international appearances on Saturday, in the second one-day international against South Africa in Bangalore.

Tendulkar, 32, is playing in his 356th match. He already holds the records for most one-day runs (13,875) and hundreds (38).

India captain Rahul Dravid won the toss and chose to bowl first against South Africa, who are 1-0 up in the five-match series after their five-wicket victory in the opening match in Hyderabad on Wednesday.

South Africa omitted paceman Charl Langeveldt, who failed a fitness test after suffering a back strain in Hyderabad.

He was replaced by all rounder Andrew Hall.

The hosts retained the same team.

India: Rahul Dravid (captain), Virender Sehwag, Sachin Tendulkar, Yuvraj Singh, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Harbhajan Singh, Murali Kartik, Irfan Pathan, Ajit Agarkar, Rudra Pratap Singh, Mohammad Kaif, Supersub: Gautam Gambhir.

South Africa: Graeme Smith (captain), Jacques Kallis, Johan Botha, Mark Boucher, AB de Villiers, Andrew Hall, Justin Kemp, Andre Nel, Makhaya Ntini, Shaun Pollock, Ashwell Prince, Supersub: Justin Ontong.
