Rahul Dravid made it clear that he is not going to get carried away by his first victory as the full captain of the Indian team in the first one-day international against Sri Lanka at Nagpur.
"I have captained the Indian side before. It is good to win the first match in the series but we have a seven-match series and I expect the contest to be close one. I had a good look at the wicket in Mohali, it looks a good wicket. I would not say that winning toss or batting first is an advantage. Whoever plays better is going to win," he told reporters in Mohali on Thursday.
He also refused to comment on questions pertaining to Sourav Ganguly saying that it would not be proper for him to do so.
"I am not going to go into this. It is for the selectors to decide," he said, when asked if Ganguly would be able to return to the Indian team.
He took exception to the questions about the performances of Virender Sehwag and Yuvraj Singh.
"Sehwag is a good player and I am very satisfied with his performance in the Nagpur one-dayer. It is unfair to judge a player like Yuvraj on a single performance. He has played some good innings and won matches for India," the Indian skipper said.
Dravid also added that Sachin Tendulkar's presence is a good thing for team.
"He is one of the top players. He is someone to whom we all look upto for guidance. He played well and has a role in the Indian side," he said.
He refused to divulge the formation of the team that would take the field tomorrow, saying it will only be decided after inspecting the pitch tomorrow.
Mohammad Kaif, who was examined by Indian team physio John Gloster on Thursday, has been ruled out of two more one-dayers against Sri Lanka after failing to recover fully from a hamstring injury.
The right-hander was advised three weeks' rest after he was injured his hamstring during the final of the Challenger Series in Mohali.
Once the three-week rest period is complete and he proves his fitness he would be considered for the remaining matches by the selectors, said an official of the BCCI.
