England captain Andrew Flintoff believes his team still stands a fighting chance of winning the one-day series against India despite going 0-3 down.

"There are four games left. If we win the next two, you know we are right back in it," Flintoff told a news conference on Monday after his side lost the third match by 49 runs.

"It is going to be tough, it is a mountain to climb, though. We still have to believe we can get back into the series."

Flintoff added: "As a one-day unit we are still learning. It is a bit of a new-look side and we are getting better.

"With the performances we put in with the likes of (Paul) Collingwood and the way he played today and (Geraint) Jones, we are showing signs of improvement against a very good Indian side."

India coach Greg Chappell warned: "We cannot be complacent because we are (only) as good as our next performance.

"If two or three players fire in every game it is enough and as long as they are sharing work it is good. We can strive to get better."
