Two players from each team will be dope tested during the October-November ICC Champions Trophy.

"The selection of teams and players will be done randomly," informed ICC's Media and  Communications Manager Brian Murgatroyd via e-mail on Thursday.

Since the ICC is now a WADA (World Anti Doping Agency) compliant, the testing will be done in line with their procedures, Murgatroyd said, adding the tests would be conducted by an agency contracted by the ICC.

"The tests will be flown to Malaysia for analysis, as was the case during the ICC U-19 Cricket World Cup in Sri Lanka earlier this year," he explained.

"Two players from each team in seven matches will be tested during the tournament," Murgatroyd said.

A total of 21 matches will be played during the Mini World Cup, including six in the qualifying stage.

The Indian cricket board has decided to dope-test all the members of the final 14-member squad selected for the tournament ahead of the ten-team event, to be hosted in India, according to BCCI secretary Niranjan Shah.

"We are thinking on those lines, to take urine samples of all those chosen for the tournament and send them to Malaysia or Bangkok (Thailand) for dope testing. Why take any chances," Shah said on Thursday.

The Indian teams for both the Champions Trophy and the preceding three-nation tournament in Kuala Lumpur (September 12-24) are to be chosen on the same day, either September 5 or 6,

Shah said.

"We have to submit the list of 14 players for the Champions Trophy to the ICC by September 7 and it makes sense in selecting both the squads on the same day. It will be done either on September 5 or 6," he added.

The Champions Trophy is to be held from October 7-November 5 at four Indian centres -- Ahmedabad, Mohali, Jaipur and Mumbai (Cricket Club of India).
