Karnataka's Robin Uthappa and Thilak Naidu backed their first innings century efforts with half-centuries in the second essay as their Ranji Trophy Super League Group 'A' cricket match against Delhi ended in a tame draw at the Ferozeshah Kotla on Wednesday.

Resuming at 32 for 1, Karnataka for whom skipper Yere Goud too struck an unbeaten half-century, declared their second innings at 242 for 6 with play being called off at the stroke of the scheduled start of the mandatory overs.

Dropped catches put paid to Karnataka's hopes of forcing an outright win, but having taken a 138-run first innings lead, the visitors atleast picked two points to take their tally to ten after four matches.

Going into the final day, the chances of achieving a result was of remote possibility and the proceedings went on the expected lines.

Despite being ahead by 319 runs at tea, Karnataka decided in favour of some valuable batting practice and looked contend with the two points that they had already bagged.

Apart from the drab proceedings on the last day, matters were also made worse with the number of interruptions. Play was stopped thrice due to poor light and the foggy conditions as only 13 overs were possible before lunch.

The only highlight of the days play, where the start was delayed by 55 minutes due to the light factor, was the 117-run partnership for the fifth wicket between Goud and Naidu before their alliance ended with a run-out, incidentally for the second time in the match.
