Punjab bagged two points by virtue of their 98-run first innings lead as their four-day Elite B Group Ranji Trophy cricket match against Maharashtra ended in a tame draw at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Stadium in Kolhapur on Wednesday.

After Punjab scored 550 in the first innings, Maharashtra in reply made 452 all out on the last day.

In their second edition, Punjab were 28 without loss with Ravneet Ricky (8) and Karan Goel (20) at the crease when the match ended.

Earlier, resuming at 308 for 5, Maharashtra's Yogesh Takwale hit 51 runs which included nine boundaries. He faced 110 balls and took 161 minutes to reach his half century. Sairaj Bahutule made 155-ball 52 before being trapped leg before the wicket.

Punjab's Rajesh Sharma, who bagged six wickets in 61 overs including 19 maidens, restricted Maharashtra from overhauling their first innings score of 550.
