Mumbai boy Shardul Thakur made headlines after slamming six sixes in an over for Swami Vivekanand School against S Radhakrishnan School in the Plate Division of the Harris Shield schools cricket tournament on Wednesday.

Thakur carted spinner Vishal Dhruv over the mid-wicket region six times in an over on his way to a score of 160 off 73 balls, which included 10 sixes and 20 fours, on the second day of the match.

His feat is a Mumbai schools record for both juniors and seniors, but there have been two similar instances in first class cricket in the world.

Nottinghamshire's former West Indies skipper Garfield Sobers had hit Glamorgan medium pacer Malcolm Nash for six sixes in an over in English county match in 1968, while Ravi Shastri slammed Baroda's Tilak Raj in similar fashion in a Ranji Trophy league match at Mumbai's Wankhede stadium in the 1980.
