A two-member ICC team on Sunday inspected the facilities at the Punjab Cricket Association stadium in Mohali, which will host the ICC Champions Trophy matches in October-November this year.

Addressing a press conference after the team's visit, BCCI joint secretary M P Pandove said the team took stock of the arrangements which are going to be put into place for the matches to be played on October 7, 25, 27, 29 and a semi-final on November 1.

The other venues where the Champions Trophy matches will be played are Mumbai, Jaipur and Ahmedabad.

Pandove said the participating nations agreement, agreement with the sponsors, the staging associations agreement, security, ticketing and medical plan aspects were discussed by the ICC team members in a meeting with the PCA officials.

Pandove said the ICC wants separate room for the match referee, improved telecommunication facilities for the television crew among other things.

He said the number of seats in the terrace block are being increased to 2500 from the present capacity of 2000.

"The team will be visiting us after every three weeks and from September regular media briefings will be held," he said.

He said a consolidated security plan for the whole tournament has been worked out and a retired Director General of Police Nikhil Kumar had been nominated as the overall incharge of security-related affairs by the BCCI.

Pandove said dope testing would be part of the tournament and any samples taken will be tested outside India.

Earlier, the ICC team had checked the facilities here on April 6 and 25 this year.

After their visits, they had instructed the authorities to improve the facilities for television coverage, which includes uplinking, camera positions, more space for commentator boxes and media boxes besides fixed points for photographers outside the boundary to avoid interruption by their movements during the game.

Presently, construction activities are going on in full swing at the PCA stadium to improve facilities for the ICC Champions Trophy.
