Promising off-spinner Dan Cullen has been added to the Australian one-day cricket squad to tour Bangladesh in April.

Cullen replaces medium pacer Mick Lewis in the 14-man squad in the only change to the team that lost the fifth and deciding one-day match against South Africa.

The selectors have retained the same 14-man Test squad currently in South Africa.

Australia's chairman of selectors, Trevor Hohns, said Lewis was unlucky to lose his spot but the panel wanted to give Cullen his chance with the need for an extra spinner for Bangladesh.

"We have brought Daniel Cullen into the one-day squad to give him an opportunity to perform at the next level," Hohns said.

"It will be a good test for Daniel and we think it is the right time to give him some experience and a chance to be a part of the Australian team environment."

Lewis, who conceded more than 100 runs in the world record loss to South Africa, said he was disappointed at being dropped but that he hadn't given up hope of a recall.

"There was a lot of noise following the final game in South Africa, and while it wasn't my favourite performance, I don't believe that this was the only reason for my omission," he said.

Australia will play two Tests and three one-dayers in Bangladesh.

Test squad - Ricky Ponting (captain), Adam Gilchrist, Stuart Clark, Michael Clarke, Matthew Hayden, Mike Hussey, Michael Kasprowicz, Justin Langer, Brett Lee, Stuart MacGill, Damien Martyn, Andrew Symonds, Shaun Tait, Shane Warne.

One-day squad - Ricky Ponting (captain), Adam Gilchrist, Nathan Bracken, Stuart Clark, Michael Clarke, Daniel Cullen, Brad Hogg, Michael Hussey, Mitchell Johnson, Simon Katich, Brett Lee, Damien Martyn, Shane Watson, Andrew Symonds.
