Indian left-arm seamer Irfan Pathan was forced to miss practice on Thursday morning because of a sore throat.

"Irfan has sore throat, that's why he didn't come for practice. But he will be fit for the match tomorrow," said G S Walia, the Board of Control for Cricket in India's media co-ordination committee member, on Thursday.

The Indian team practiced at the Nahar Singh stadium in Faridabad, the venue of the second one-day international, while the English preferred to avoid the long travel and chose to practice at the Ferozshah Kotla in New Delhi.

The second match will be played at the Nahar Singh stadium n Friday.

India lead the seven-match ODI series 1-0 after winning the first in Delhi by 39 runs.
