Dissatisfied with arrangements at Arbab Niaz cricket stadium in Peshawar, the International Cricket Council has asked the Pakistan Cricket Board to improve the facilities before staging any international matches in the future.

ICC had not given a high rating to the stadium as an international venue after the one-dayer between Pakistan and India held here in February.

"They (ICC) told us after the ODI against India that they were not satisfied with the conditions at the stadium in Peshawar and we needed to improve facilities there for the teams, match officials and media," a PCB source was quoted as saying by 'The News'.

Peshawar has regularly hosted international matches but in the last few years some touring teams refused to play in Karachi due to security reasons.

Since 2003, Peshawar has hosted a Test against Bangladesh and ODIs against Zimbabwe and India twice.

The ICC recently came down hard on countries which hosts matches at venues which are not up to international standards.
