Pakistan cricketers want a pay raise and are seeking performance-related incentives for next year's World Cup, says captain Inzamam-ul-Haq.
Pakistani players are currently given monthly retainers in their central contracts in addition to match appearance fees.
"We are going to ask the Pakistan Cricket Board to increase our salaries in the contracts, as we feel this is due to us," Inzamam said on Tuesday.
"We will also discuss the possibility of having incentives for doing well in the World Cup."
Players also wanted the board to review the existing match fees system, he added.
The cricket board has issued 20 central contracts in three different categories, with the highest level giving a monthly retainer of 200,000 rupees (1,774 pounds), followed by 125,000 rupees and 75,000.
The contracts are up for review next month.
Inzamam said the players felt a yearly increase was natural, but that their demands would be acceptable to everyone.
"We just feel the players should be financially secure."
Inzamam also said the players were looking for incentives for the World Cup.
"Although we know that if we perform up to the mark in Pakistan the rewards would flow in from every quarter."
Pakistani players are paid less than their counterparts from India, England, Australia and South Africa and the board introduced the central contracts system in December 2004.
PCB Director Abbas Zaidi said there had so far been no contact from the players regarding a pay raise.
"As it is, the board reviews the contracts when the new ones are issued," said Zaidi.
"Obviously if the board thinks it is in a good financial position it will give some benefits to the players."
Pacer Muhammad Asif, who has taken 23 wickets in his last three tests, and batsman Faisal Iqbal are expected to be rewarded with central contracts for recent performances.
The Pakistan board does not recognise any players association in the country.
