Pakistan's pacemen Shoaib Akhtar and Mohammed Asif tested positive for performance enhancing drug tests prior to their opening match in the Champions Trophy against Sri Lanka in Jaipur on Tuesday.
The tests were conducted by the Pakistan Cricket Board, the results of which were out on Sunday night. The players will return to Pakistan on Monday itself.
WADA, the World Anti-Doping Agency, and the International Cricket Council had an understanding as per which the cricketers would undergo random testing during the Champions Trophy.
The Pakistan cricket team's practice on Monday morning was cancelled in the wake of the reports, but captain Younis Khan and coach Bob Woolmer will address the press at 1200 IST.
Coach Woolmer also said that the team would practice at 1800 IST under lights at the Rajasthan Cricket Association ground.
Australia's Shane Warne had tested positive for a diuretic and was consequently suspended from the game for one year.
