Australia captain Ricky Ponting won the toss and elected to bat against India in the sixth and final one-day international of the DLF Cup tri-series in Kuala Lumpur on Friday.
India made a couple of changes to the team that beat the West Indies on Wednesday, with Dinesh Mongia and Mohammad Kaif replacing S Sreesanth and Yuvraj Singh respectively.
Australia continued with their rotation policy resting Michael Clarke, Shane Watson, Dan CullenĀ and Nathan Bracken for Ponting, Brad Hogg, Damien Martyn and Glenn McGrath.
It is a virtual semi-final match, with the winner taking on the West Indies in the final on Sunday.
In their last match, India had beaten the West Indies by 16 runs in a close finish, while Australia went down to the Windies by 3 wickets.
