Wiser from experience, West Indies skipper Brian Lara said he would pack the top order with experienced batsmen and ensure the batting does not let the team down in the tri-series final against Australia in Kuala Lumpur on Sunday.
"I will of course revert to (Shivnarine) Chanderpaul, Chris (Gayle), (Ramnaresh) Sarwan and myself in the top four and the experience there hopefully will take the pressure of those lower down," he told reporters here on the eve of the title clash.
Lara was referring to the last league match against India where his team made some changes in batting order only to lose the game by 16 runs in a low-scoring thriller.
Admitting that batting continued to be a concern, he said, "I am a little happier in the bowling areas but of course there is cause for concern in the batting."
Lara, who had stated that some of his players were lacking confidence after the defeat to India, hoped they would come good on the morrow.
"I still have confidence that they can play. Now it is down to the final and I'm hoping that will bring out the best in them."
The batting genius also made it clear that there would be no experimentation and only those players will be fielded who have proved their mettle in the past.
Australian skipper Ricky Ponting said they would have to put a much better performance in the final as they could not take the West Indies for granted.
"We've mixed and matched our teams, and we've won just enough games to make the final, as we always wanted to do," he said.
Ponting defended the team's strategy to tinker with the line-up in this tournament.
"We've got some younger players we see as being future Australian players but without having exposure at international level you really don't know what they are capable of.
"We knew it was going to be that way before we came away, so we've tried to do the best we can with the squad we've had here."
Ponting admitted that the batting had not been up to the mark.
"We've got to get a lot better before the final. The batting hasn't been good. We've got out of jail a couple of times," he said.
But he was encouraged by the way his bowlers won the match for Australia in the do-or-die battle against India for a berth in the final.
"It has given us a lot of confidence," he said.
