Indian team's administrative manager for the forthcoming tour of Australia, Chetan Chauhan on Saturday said the Anil Kumble-led side was strong enough to beat the world champions in their own backyard.

"The Indian team is good enough to beat Australia on their home soil. I hope we win a series in Australia for the first time," Chauhan said in a felicitation function in New Delhi on Saturday.

Delhi-pacer Ishant Sharma, who has been selected for the four-Test series starting December 26 in Melbourne, and Chauhan were felicitated at the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) office by the Chand Khanna Club.

Ishant's father Vijay Sharma and uncle Anil Sharma were also present on the occasion.
