West Indies Cricket Board president Ken Gordon will not seek re-election after the expiry of his term at the end of this month.

The 77-year-old, whose stint started in August 2005, had offered to resign in April earlier but was persuaded to continue.

Gordon's tenure has been marred by financial problems in the Board and stormy relations with players over contracts and endorsement issues.

The WICB elections are scheduled to be held on July 29 in Trinidad during the Board's annual general meeting.

With Gordon deciding not to contest, only one candidate, former St Lucia foreign minister Julian Hunte, has been left in the fray for the top job.

Meanwhile, WICB vice-president Val Banks has also decided against seeking a re-election.
