England pace bowler Steve Harmison is a doubtful starter for the first Test against India after aggravating his hernia injury.

"Harmison aggravated his hernia injury. He will be reassessed again on Monday night, but, at this stage, he looks extremely doubtful for the first Test," England's chairman of selectors David Graveney said on Saturday.

Harmison bowled only five overs on Thursday for Durham against Sussex after a recurrence of the hernia problem, which surfaced during the fourth Test against West Indies last month.

On Monday England name their squad for the first Test against India, starting at Lord's on Thursday.
