The Board of Control for Cricket in India is hopeful that a solution would emerge out of Monday's crucial meeting between the board and the senior players to settle the players' contract issue.

"We hope to find a solution to the contract issue. Players have some reservation which will be discussed at the meeting today and whatever is the outcome, it will be put before the working committee meeting tomorrow," BCCI secretary Niranjan Shah said.

Captain Rahul Dravid, Sourav Ganguly, Sachin Tendulkar and Anil Kumble will meet the three-member committee of the board in the afternoon to sort out the contract issue.

The BCCI committee consisted of vice-president Shashank Manohar, treasurer N Srinivasan and former president I S Bindra.

Shah and BCCI's chief administrative manager Prof Ratnakar Shetty would also be part of the parley with the senior players.

The contracts, due from October 1 last year, could not be signed before the team went for the World Cup in early March and then the BCCI cracked the whip on players' endorsements by putting a cap on them.

The cap on endorsements has been a bone of contention between the two parties while the proposed flat retainership fee of Rs five lakh for all players irrespective of their seniority has also sparked resentment.

The outcome of the meeting would be discussed at the BCCI's all-powerful Working Committee in Delhi on Tuesday.
