Shivnarine Chanderpaul scored an unbeaten 136 to thwart England once more as the West Indies showed some resistance on the third day of the fourth and final Test on Sunday.
The Guyanese left-hander, who has not been dismissed for 804 minutes after 116 not out in the last Test, helped the West Indies recover from 55 for four on Saturday to a competitive first innings total of 287 and a position of strength in the match.
England, already series winners with a 2-0 lead, closed on 121 for four with opener Andrew Strauss making his first half-century of the summer to finish on 72.
Paceman Fidel Edwards claimed some important late wickets for figures of three for 40.
Alastair Cook, Michael Vaughan, night-watchman Matthew Hoggard and Kevin Pietersen -- who fell to the last ball of the day -- were all dismissed as England conceded their last three wickets in 17 balls.
West Indies resumed on 132 for four from overnight and soon lost 23-year-old all-rounder Dwayne Bravo (44) when his impetuosity took over from the patient approach that had marked his mature innings.
Bravo attempted to pull a thigh-high Hoggard ball on off-stump but managed only an inside edge on to his wicket. Hoggard then became England's sixth-highest Test wicket-taker, surpassing Sir Alec Bedser's 236 victims.

Left-arm seamer Ryan Sidebottom took three of the last five wickets to fall as he finished with figures of five for 88 and claimed his first five-wicket haul in Tests.
Chanderpaul was untroubled throughout his innings, though a mix-up with Marlon Samuels forced him to dive into his crease to survive a run-out attempt from Pietersen's throw on 86.
He was also struck on his left forearm by a short Steve Harmison ball which he attempted to pull only to be beaten for pace. He required immediate attention from the team physiotherapist.
The batsman showed he had suffered no ill-effects by cutting a short and wide Harmison delivery to the boundary to move on to 102. He then knelt down and kissed the pitch.
Chanderpaul, as ever fidgeting nervously at the crease and wearing anti-glare stickers underneath his eyes, rubbed more salt into England's wounds by adding 58 for the last wicket with Corey Collymore, who hung around for 98 minutes.
West Indies fast bowler Fidel Edwards cheered his team further by having Cook caught behind down the leg side and then had Michael Vaughan caught at second slip by Bravo.
Hoggard failed to perform his task and see out the last 15 minutes of the day by giving a catch to first slip Chris Gayle off Collymore. Pietersen then got a bottom edge to Edwards trying to hook.
An extra hour was played to compensate for the time lost on Friday, when the whole day was washed out, and Saturday when half the day was lost because of rain.
