Indian captain Rahul Dravid won the toss and elected to field in the second cricket one-dayer against South Africa in Belfast on Friday.
Wicketkeeper-batsman Mahendra Singh Dhoni returned to the team after missing the first two matches of the tour while paceman Ishant Sharma makes his ODI debut.
Batsmen Rohit Sharma and Gautam Gambhir, who played on Tuesday, were left out.
For the South Africans, off-spinner Thandi Tshabalala came into the team in place of all-rounder Vernon Philander.
