Another wet morning in Chittagong on Sunday forced play to be called off without a ball being bowled on Day 3 in the first Test between India and Bangladesh.

Heavy overnight rain that lashed the port city continued in the morning too, and in the absence of drainage facilities the outfield at the Chittagong Divisional stadium was heavily waterlogged.

The umpires made a second inspection of the ground at 1130 local time (1100 IST) and felt that even if the rain stops, play would not be possible because of the poor condition of the ground.

Already, 83 overs were lost on the first two days because of rain.

Electing to bat, India were 384 for 6 at close on the second day, which saw centuries from Sachin Tendulkar (101) and Sourav Ganguly (100).
