India post new record in Test cricket

History was made on Saturday when Rahul Dravid, Dinesh Karthik and Sachin Tendulkar scored centuries in India's first innings of the second Test against Bangladesh in Mirpur.

With Wasim Jaffer having already reached the three-figure mark on Day 1 of the Test, this provided the first instance in the annals of Test cricket that the first four batsmen of a side scored centuries in an innings.

The previous record of the first three batsmen scoring centuries together was made on seven occasions. The nearest any side reached this record was in 1993 at Lord's when Mark Taylor, Michael Slater and David Boon scored centuries and Mark Waugh got dismissed for 99 against England.
