Pakistan's high-profile cricket tour of India will continue as scheduled despite the imposition of emergency in that country.

"As far as we are concerned, we have not received any instructions from the Pakistan Cricket Board. We are continuing to do what we have been doing" the team's Media Manager Ehsan Malik said.

The team, which arrived in India on Thursday, will play five one-dayers and three Tests during their 40-day tour of India. The first one-dayer will be played in Guwahati on Monday.

Pakistan's President Pervez Musharraf imposed a state of emergency in the wake of a rapid deterioration in the security situation and growing uncertainty over his position in the face of a legal challenge to his re-election in uniform.

The team had just returned to their hotel from a practice session at the Feroze Shah Kotla stadium when news of the imposition of an emergency broke out late in the evening.

Most of the players watched the television in their rooms to know about the developments back home.

The team is scheduled to leave for Guwahati on Sunday for the first one-dayer.
