Wicketkeeper-batsman Dinesh Karthik is disappointed at being left out for the first two one-day internationals against Pakistan but is confident of making a comeback to the Indian squad.
"I am very confident that I will make a comeback," he told reporters after scoring an unbeaten 116 to help India Blue lift the Challenger Series trophy in Ahmedabad on Sunday.
"If you are dropped, you are definitely disappointed. If you are not, then there is no point in playing," he said, adding he guessed his performance in the final "was a good way to prove a point."
"Selection is not in my hands but I am hopeful of making a comeback. I have put runs on the board," said Karthik.
He also believes that during the Challenger Series his wicket keeping and catching were good.
"As I kept getting better, I believe I will get my chances as well."
With regard to the five-match ODI series against the arch-rivals next month, he said: "India will definitely have an upper hand."
