Former India captain Sourav Ganguly on Thursday admitted that he missed being part of the victorious Indian Twenty20 World Cup-winning squad.
"I missed being part of the Twenty20 World Cup squad because they won it," Ganguly said in Bangalore.
The left-hander along with Sachin Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid had opted out of the tournament to give youngsters chance.
But he said it was fun watching the slam-bang format of the game.
"I had a lot of fun watching the tournament."
He heaped rich praise on Yuvraj Singh, who slammed six sixes in an over in the tournament against England pacer Stuart Broad, saying, "Players like him are good in any form of cricket."
He, however, felt that after the highs of the World Cup victory, India must not rest on its laurels and take Australia lightly in the upcoming seven-match ODI series, starting in Bangalore on Saturday.
"Australia are a tough team to beat. They are good unit," he said.
Asked whether he would like to lead the team again, Ganguly gave a straightforward reply: "[Mahendra Singh] Dhoni is the captain, so let him handle the job."
