Mohammed Kaif will lead Rest of India against Ranji champions Mumbai in the five-day Irani Trophy match, at Rajkot, from October 6.
Rest of India comprises mostly players from the India 'A' team, which beat South Africa 'A' in an unofficial home 'Test' series 1-0 recently.
However, Delhi pacer Pankaj Singh, part of the India 'A' team, has been replaced by Bengal quickie Ranadeb Bose.
Amol Muzumdar will lead Mumbai, which will be without the services of Sachin Tendulkar, who is in the team for the seven-match ODI series against Australia.
