Pakistan beat Bangladesh by 150 runs in the fifth and final one-day international to complete a 5-0 series win at National Stadium, Karachi on Saturday.

Opener Salman Butt smashed 136 to set a national record and fire Pakistan to 329 for nine.

Butt's second hundred in five matches brought his series total to 451, the highest number of runs scored by a Pakistani in a bilateral series.

The previous best of 405 was set by Mohammad Yousuf against Zimbabwe in 2003.

Butt was dropped on 57 and scored his sixth one-day century from 100 balls.

He and Younis Khan (69) put on a second wicket total of 179 runs from 178 balls after Kamran Akmal (10) fell early to Mashrafe Mortaza.

Bangladesh did well to fight back after breaking the big partnership and captured eight wickets for 122 in the last 15.2 overs. Mortaza took four for 65.

A quickfire sixth wicket stand of 52 from 34 balls between captain, Shoaib Malik (27) and Misbah-ul-Haq (35) pushed Pakistan to their highest one-day total against the tourists.

Mohammad Asif took three for 35 and Shahid Afrid three for 40 as Bangladesh crashed to 179 all out with almost 10 overs remaining.
