Pakistani players taking part in the Indian Premier League competition have been given special programmes by the national team trainer to ensure they don't face 'burn out' before the start of the next international season, said Pakistan captain Shoaib Malik.

"Twenty20 cricket is very demanding but I think there is enough breathing space in between the IPL matches and we have also been given special fitness programs by David Dwyer," Malik said.

Malik, after leading his team to a 5-0 whitewash over Bangladesh yesterday in a one-day series, said the trainer had told the players to follow their individual programs religiously as they would have to undergo fitness tests after returning from India.

"The trainer has given each player a certain limit to maintain and we are expected to do that," he added.

Around a dozen Pakistani players are taking part in the IPL with Shahid Afridi leaving tomorrow to join the Deccan team and the rest on Thursday.
