India will tour England in 2011 to play four Tests, five one-dayers and a Twenty20 international, England and Wales Cricket Board said on Sunday.

India will be in England for a return visit after that country's tour of India in November this year to play two Tests and seven one-day internationals.

The Test will be at Lord's, Trent Bridge, Edgbaston and The Oval, though the exact schedule will be finalised later.

The ODIs will be played at Cardiff, Durham, Lord's, The Oval and Hampshire's Rose Bowl - but the venue for the Twenty20 international has not been announced yet.

England will play two Tests and seven ODIs during its tour of India later this year and although ECB wanted an extra Test, BCCI could not accommodate it because of the preceding home series against Australia.

"I am delighted that India will play four Test matches on their tour of England and Wales in 2011. The ECB has been strong and consistent in its insistence that Test cricket is still the predominant form of the game," ECB Chief Executive David Collier said in a statement.

"I am delighted that the schedule for this winter can now be finalised with the BCCI and our supporters can look forward to visiting a range of venues in this magnificent country of India," he said.

India last toured England in 2007 under Rahul Dravid's captaincy, winning the three-Test series 1-0, a feat achieved after 21 years, before England took the one-day series 4-3.
