Australia won the toss and elected to bat first in the second Test against India at the Sydney Cricket Ground in Sydney on Wednesday.

Australia retained the same team that won last week's first Test in Melbourne by 337 runs while India made one change with paceman Zaheer Khan ruled out after failing a last-minute fitness test to an injured heel and was replaced by Ishant Sharma.

Teams:

Australia: Ricky Ponting (captain), Adam Gilchrist, Matthew Hayden, Phil Jaques, Mike Hussey, Michael Clarke, Andrew Symonds, Brett Lee, Brad Hogg, Mitchell Johnson, Stuart Clark.

India: Anil Kumble (captain), Wasim Jaffer, Rahul Dravid, Vangipurappu Laxman, Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly, Yuvraj Singh, Mahendra Dhoni, Harbhajan Singh, Rudra Pratap Singh, Ishant Sharma.
