The BCCI on Tuesday hit back at the England Cricket Board for criticising its choice of venues for the English team's winter tour here, saying it was the home board's prerogative to finalise the itinerary.

The BCCI even alleged that the Indian team was not given proper facilities whenever they tour Great Britain.

The ECB is unhappy with the venues for the six-week tour later this year, complaining that big Test venues were missing from the list.

"Whenever the Indian team has toured England, some of the venues have not been up to the mark in terms of facilities for Indian players and supporters. However, we have complied and gone ahead and played, for it is the host board's prerogative to fix the itinerary," BCCI secretary Niranjan Shah said.

Shah made it clear that the BCCI was in no mood to change the itinerary.

"We would like to remind the ECB that our venues are always decided on the basis of a rotation policy. The itinerary for the England tour has been finalised on the basis of this rotation policy," Shah said.

The ECB had issued a statement on Monday which read, "ECB are disappointed that, despite their representations, the itinerary doesn't offer the thousands of supporters who follow the England team abroad the opportunity to experience more of the great cricket grounds of India.

England are scheduled to play two Tests and a seven one-day series in the tour beginning November.
