A key member of the tri-series title winning Indian side, top order batsman Gautam Gambhir on Tuesday attributed the rare success to the tremendous camaraderie and team spirit which kept the young cricketers together.

Gambhir said the players were not reluctant to take up responsibility and give their best for the team's success.

"It's a great feeling when you play for the country. The players took up responsibility and performed. There is team spirit in the side. It is amazing to see how they handled pressure," a jubilant Gambhir said after India beat Australia by nine runs in the second final to lay their hand on the tri-series trophy.

The Delhi batsman said the team members' resolve to win and the habit of being happy for each other were also responsible for their memorable overseas title victory.

Another important cog in the wheel for India, Irfan Pathan, agreed with Gambhir that team spirit was the driving force behind India's title triumph.

"I am feeling good for myself as well as the team," he said.

The all-rounder acknowledged the fact that skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni backed him well during the crucial last over when Australia needed only 13 runs off six balls.

"The pressure was so much in the last over. Dhoni came to me and said 'enjoy and relax.' We decided not to bowl slow balls to James Hopes, we wanted to bowl full to him and it worked," he said.

Pathan said he was happy with his bowling on Tuesday as he stuck to his task well.

"I was getting good swing. I bowled with rhythm. I am pretty happy. Not only I bowled well in the last over (to take two wickets), but I bowled well throughout," he said.

Ace off-spinner Harbhajan Singh, who has been at the centre of several controversies during the tour, said it was a great feeling to emerge triumphant as the team badly wanted to win this series.

"We have won the series, we wanted to win and I am very happy. It's a great feeling."

Harbhajan said he was not too much worried about the hostile crowd behaviour after the on and off-the-field controversies.

"I am not bothered. I wanted to play good cricket and I am really proud that we have won," he said.
