Kings XI Punjab scored their fifth win in a row when they beat Royal Challengers Bangalore by six wickets at the Chinnaswamy Stadium on Monday.

Chasing 127 to win, the Punjab team romped home with 10 balls to spare.

Shaun Marsh (39) and Ramnaresh Sarwan (31) put on a 54-run stand for the second with to ensure a solid foundation and helped their side consign Bangalore to their fifth defeat in seven matches in the competition.

Zaheer Khan and Praveen Kumar took two wickets apiece but Bangalore's paltry total was never going to be enough.

Earlier, Rahul Dravid stood tall amid ruins with a gritty 66 as wickets tumbled around him and Kings XI Punjab shot out the hosts for 126 in 19.2 overs.

Put into bat, the Bangalore side put up a pathetic show with just two batsmen -- Dravid and Virat Kohli (34) -- managing double digit scores, while five of their compatriots had ducks against their names.

In a tournament where its has been raining fours and sixes, the Bangalore innings included just one six that came in the 19th over when Dravid hit VRV Singh over the ropes.

Dravid was the ninth man out after a defiant 51-ball knock that included nine hits to the fence besides the six.

For the Punjab side, leg-spinner Piyush Chawla was the pick of the bowlers, claiming three for 25 in his four overs.

It was S Sreesanth who started the rot when he scalped Wasim Jaffer (0) and Cameron White (0) off successive deliveries in the first over.

Sreesanth began with a wide but the Punjab bowlers hardly put a foot wrong after that and their splendid show even managed to gloss over the sloppy fielding by the side.

As if the early double blow was not bad enough for the hosts, Jacques Kallis (0) was run out in the fourth over before Kohli and Dravid joined hands to steady the rocking boat.

Kohli was dropped by James Hopes but the youngster could not make the most of the largesse and departed off a soft dismissal that triggered off another batting collapse.

Since then, it was a long procession of the host batsmen returning to the hut without making a mark. Much was expected of Misbah-ul-Haq but all he could contribute was eight runs before Chawla trapped him leg before.
