Some interesting statistics on the opening day of the fourth Test between India [ Images ] and Australia [ Images ] in Nagpur on Thursday.

700 Australia became the second team to play these many Tests after England [ Images ] (877). However Australia have won 326 matches as against England's 305.

323 Runs scored by Laxman before being dismissed. He scored an unbeaten 200* in first innings of the Delhi [ Images ] Test, followed it up with another unbeaten 59 in the second innings… and made 64 on Thursday before getting out.

99 Number of venues that have hosted a Test match, Nagpur's VCA stadium being the latest entry to this list.

91 Number of fifty-plus scores Tendulkar has posted in his Test career (40 centuries+ 51 fifties) - more than any other batsman in Test annals. He was previously at level with Australia's Allan Border [ Images ].

80 Number of Tests fabulous four -- Sachin Tendulkar [ Images ], Sourav Ganguly [ Images ], Rahul Dravid [ Images ] and VVS Laxman [ Images ] -- have played together.

64 Laxman's score is the highest by an Indian in his 100th Test. This beats Kapil Dev's [ Images ] 55 against Pakistan at Karachi in 1989-90.

17 Number of Test centuries Tendulkar has scored at home soil -- most by any Indian. He was previously at level with Sunil Gavaskar [ Images ] with 16 centuries.
