Kolkata Knight Riders' disastrous Australia tour continued after Queensland defeated the Indian Premier League side by 48-run in the penultimate match of the six-match Twenty20 series, although all-rounder Andrew Symonds made little impact in the victory.

With this victory Queensland have taken an unassailable 4-1 lead in the series with just one match to go.

Symonds, who is making a comeback after the controversial 'gone fishing' episode, could manage only three in the match and later on did not appear in the field. The right-hander spent the rest of the match batting in the nets.

Symonds, who has been left our of Australia's India tour, scored just 14 runs so far in the four innings of the series.

Batting first the hosts scored 163 runs for the loss of seven wickets in their allotted 20 overs on Wednesday, before restricting the Knight Riders to 115 for eight.

Queensland raced to 101 for one in the 10th over before losing six wickets in a hurry for just 23 runs.

Leg-spinner Timil Patel was the pick of the bowlers for Knight Riders, claiming four wickets, including the huge scalp of Symonds.
