Some interesting numbers from first day's play in the first Test between India and Australia in Bangalore:

1,654 - Runs aggregated by Matt Hayden before recording his first duck against India. It was after 14 Tests and 27 innings that he got a duck against India.

402 - Players who have represented Australia in Test matches, with Cameron White being the latest debutant.

123 - Ricky Ponting's highest score against India in India. This surpasses his previous best of 60 at Calcutta in 1997-98. Before this innings he had aggregated just 172 runs in 14 innings in India at an average of 12.28!

49.12 -  Kumble's bowling average in Test matches in the year 2008. This is Kumble's second bad year in his long career. In his debut year (in 1990) Kumble had taken three wickets in one match at 56.66, which still remains the worst year of his career.

16 - Number of Test hundreds scored by Ponting while leading Australia -- most by any captain in Test cricket. He was earlier at level with Steve Waugh and Allan Border with 15 hundreds.

9 - Number of times Harbhajan dismissed Ricky Ponting in Test cricket -- more than any other bowler. He was earlier level with England's Darren Gough with eight dismissals.
