Moin urges PCB to follow Lanka's move to lift ICL ban

Lauding the Sri Lankan Cricket's (SLC) pathbreaking move of uplifting the ban on players who featured in the ICL, the former Pakistan captain and coach of the rebel league team Lahore Badshahs, Moin Khan, has urged the PCB to follow the same suit.

''I am happy for Sri Lankan players and hope that the PCB will also take the same stance,'' Moin said.

''The bans, as we have said from the first day, were illegal and deprive players to ply their trades and in total violation of Human Rights.'' Pakistan banned their ICL players from all first class and international watches.

Moin said Bangladesh, who recently lost 13 players to the ICL, should also consider the lifting of ban imposed on them, as it would jeopardise their cricket.

''Bangladesh has also taken a wrong decision and it will destroy their cricket. If some players want to play in the ICL, it is their right and the Bangladesh Board will regret that. England have allowed all the ICL players to feature in county matches so PCB and BCB should also follow that.'' Moin said Sri Lanka's decision was a bold one.

''SLC has taken loan from the BCCI and in spite of that, they have taken a strong step. I don't know why the PCB is backing BCCI, it is inexplicable.

''The five Sri Lankan players have little chance to represent their country again, but as a principle stance, they have lifted the ban and allowed them to play in club competitions.'' Moin said Pakistani players keep their rights reserved to move the courts on the matter.

''Last time the first class season was delayed, the players did not go to the court. This time they keep the rights to go to the courts, '' he said.
