8 killed in Bombay building mishap

Eight workers were killed and nine others seriously injured when a temporary slab of a building undergoing repairs collapsed at around 1500 hours at Peddar Road in south Bombay today.

According to the police, the 13-storeyed "Sterlite building" was under repair.

Nine labourers have been hospitalised at the nearby Nair Hospital. Further details are awaited.
