1 killed, 11 hurt in building collapseOne person died and 11 were injured in a major building collapse in suburban Bombay on Tuesday evening. All the six floors of 'Sukhsagar', in Bachani Nagar, near the Children's Academy School in Malad east, Bombay North, came tumbling down at 1610 hours. Part of the debris fell on a nearby chawl. About 30 people are feared trapped in the debris when reports last came in. The dead body of a woman has been recovered so far. The injured have been admitted to the nearby Jeevan and Bhagwati hospitals. The dilapidated building housed 16 families who were recently issued notice by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation to vacate it, sources said. Maharashtra Chief Minister Manohar Joshi and his deputy Gopinath Munde have rushed to the site. Rescue operations are on. UNI
