How Readers responded to Saisuresh Sivaswamy's last column

Subject: Where is the PM?

Why does the author think that George Fernandes made those statement off his cuff? Can he substantiate it? What now after the Pokhran episode? The government is only 2 months old, so why are you people commenting this way? A newborn baby cannot walk right away. Wait a few months before writing such absurd columns.

Saisuresh Sivaswamy makes sweeping statements in a biased manner. The 'brilliant' policies of Manmohan Singh and Chidambaram have landed India in an economic mess. It will take some time to stop the slide. At least six months are required to judge whether the new policies are working or not.

A coalition government is what the people wanted, and it will have many teething problems. The alternative to this government is the corrupt, morally-bankrupt dynastic rule of the Congress. Is that what Sivaswamy wants for India? The BJP will show a new, more dynamic governance of which the majority Indians can be vastly proud of.

I guess Mr Sivaswamy now knows where the PM was. He had bigger issues to deal with rather than baby-sit the idiots who have have been elected by us -- Vajpayee was in Pokhran! :-)

This is the nth sickening column by the same author on the same subject. I am afraid that he is afflicted by some serious disorder which makes him see only one theme in this world -- how to find fault with the BJP.

He forgets to see the work being done -- I guess we can wait to see the results till Parliament gets into session. Maybe Mr Sivaswamy ought to be informed about all that at the earliest; it might help him recover from his sickness. For example, there is work being done on the NSC. There are committees studying the devolution of powers to states, studying electoral reforms. And, the biggest, the budget is being prepared.

His reference to George Fernandes's statements is STUPID. These statements are obviously planned and not shot from the hip as the author proclaims. We have to follow the carrot-and-stick policy with China which undoubtedly is our NUMBER ONE threat in all spheres. If all the work being done still fails to catch the attention of our great one-theme-for-life writer, then today's nuclear tests -- that too, successful ones -- should be sufficient to show that the govt is busy. It does not have the time to come and explain to each silly fellow about what it is doing. IN ANY CASE, this is the ONLY government which has a backbone -- the MAN WHO HEADS THE GOVERNMENT IS THE BEST AND THE MOST QUALIFIED FOR THE POST.

I do not know whether the PM needs a vacation, but the author surely does. It is boring to read articles with the same theme -- there is no fresh argument, just stale material. I expect Rediff to put up some better editorial effort.

UDAY
