Terrified Sena out to kill me, alleges Mulayam

Samajwadi Party president Mulayam Singh Yadav today accused the Shiv Sena of hatching a conspiracy to liquidate him as it was upset with the increasing influence of the Rashtriya Loktantrik Morcha in Maharashtra.

Yadav told newspersons that after the success of the recent RLM rally at Shivaji Park in Bombay, the Sena was upset with the RLM's increasing influence in Maharashtra, and so it was trying to incite violence against him by misinterpreting his statement about providing financial assistance to Pakistan.

Strongly defending his demand for financial assistance, Yadav said Pakistan was reeling under a multi-faceted crisis due to wrong policies of its Prime Minister Nawaz Sharief. ''Expansionist forces exploiting the situation may extend financial help to Pakistan to build up their anti-India base there. To pre-empt such a situation, India should help Pakistan,'' he added.

Yadav said the Centre was importing cheap sugar from Pakistan and was ready for transporting power from across the borders. ''But when Mulayam Singh talks of such exchanges and financial aid, he becomes anti-national, is it not highly ridiculous?''

He alleged that the Centre was trying to implicate him in false cases. There was also a deeper conspiracy to frame bogus charges against him and Amar Singh, MP and RLM spokesperson.

Asked about reports of mercenaries sneaking into the Kashmir Valley with the support of Osama bin Laden, Yadav said India should curb such activities with an iron hand.

He took strong exception to handling of the Kashmir issue by the Centre and said the ruling combine had internationalised the issue. ''With its hotch-potch approach to the sensitive Kashmir issue, the country may lose Kashmir in the coming years,'' he added.

The SP leader alleged that the BJP leaders with their parochial approach were diving the population in Jammu on communal lines while till recently it was an issue between Kashmiris and non-Kashmiris.
