Mild earthquake rocks Koyna

An earthquake of mild intensity rocked Koyna in Satara district and parts of Shahuwadi tehsil of Kolhapur district on Friday evening.

According to sources, the quake shock was felt around 1855 hours and lasted for four seconds.

Its intensity has not yet been ascertained.

The earthquake was experienced by various villages in Shahuwadi tehsil's western part, including Chandolee, Valur, Nile, Amba, Manolee, Gajapur, Lavhala and Varun, where people came out of their house in fear.

No damage has been reported, the sources added.
