Jawan kills colleague in Poona

Irked on being teased, a lance naik, belonging to 11 Gorkha Rifles, beheaded his colleague and injured three others with a khukri (knife) at Ghorpadi village, Poona, Thursday night, police said.

Police said Friday about 15 jawans were watching a television programme at the recreation centre of the Gorkha Rifle Battalion, NDA wing, when suddenly Lance Naik Dilliram Indrabahadur Rai (37) lost his temper when his collegues teased him.

In a fit of rage, he took out his khukri and beheaded one of his colleagues Lalit Kumar and injured three others.

He was subsequently taken into custody by the military police and handed over to the civil police.
