Vidarbha Cong leaders want separate PCCCongress leaders from Vidarbha have threatened to boycott the organisational elections of The Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee and have demanded that a separate pradesh Congress committee be constituted for the region. Member of Parliament Vilas Muttemwar and Textile Minister Ranjit Deshmukh, who are spearheading the demand for statehood for Vidarbha, told reporters in Nagpur Monday that AICC General Secretary Motilal Vora, in-charge of party affairs in Maharashtra, has been intimated about their decision. "We no longer identify with MPCC as our representative body and want immediate constitution of the Vidabhra Regional Pradesh Congress Committee, the message faxed to Vora said. A Congress delegation from the region will soon meet party president Sonia Gandhi. PTI
