"We will call off the 'dharna' at 1900 hours (IST)," Rao said after a high-level meeting between the union leaders and the state authorities.
"We have settled the issue. The BEST bonus would now be linked with the BMC (Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation) bonus, which is currently pending in the court. The court's decision on the matter would also be made applicable to the BEST employees," he said.
In the meantime, the BEST employees would be paid an advance of Rs 4000 between November 9 and 12. The advance would be adjusted against the charter of demand, which would be looked into by a three-member committee," he said.
The additional bonus to be paid would be adjusted therewith, he said.
Scores of office-goers faced severe hardship for the second consecutive day on Tuesday as over 3000 BEST buses had gone off the road since Sunday midnight in response to the 'dharna' call.
