The prayer for his bail was not entertained as the court wanted to know from the police the reason for seeking his remand, court sources said.
The police is seeking a three-day remand for Kabir. The hearing will be held on Sunday.
The private UNB news agency said police filed a GD (general diary) against Kabir at the Zia International Airport police station stating that he was arrested for his anti-state activities on the basis of 'intelligence reports and at the instruction of the highest authorities'.
The GD also mentioned that police seized from his possession 13 cassettes relating to 'repression on the minorities both before and after the election'.
Kabir's arrest by the Bangladesh National Party-Jamaat alliance government headed by Khaleda Zia has been condemned both at home and abroad.
